Dont Take My Word For it

Good Morning everyone,Have not been around here in a while, here is a update and some pics of my system. Its now one year old since we bought the new house.

So I have made some major changes in the past year so lets start.
t just broke the one year point and my frags are growing nicely.

I did not like my aqua scaping there was just something I didnt like and it was bugging me!So I striped down the tank and redid the Aquascaping,to a better design and look.

Im Testing the Xwave Pumps simular to a Tunze stream product with controller, and a Xwave rotary device simular to the wavysea

I read and compared data from sanjays site, and spoke to many hobbists about using 400w SE bulbs vs 250 SE bulbs.
I decided to downgrade my lighting to 250w once again I did this because I want to be more energy efficient I compared XM`s 10k 250w vs other brands of 400w that have produced incredible results and felt that 250w will do just fine and I like them better.

I Also went on to changing all my VHO`s and switched back to T5 HO`s which I used prior to setting up this tank T5 bulb quality has come along way since the first models especially since VHO bulbs will no longer be available next year.

I swapped out my A300 H&S for the new A250 H&S skimmer one less pump working 24/7 and skims like a son of a gun!

So in a nutshell I have reduced my power consumtion by less than half and I like the look of the tank more than ever before.

Here are some pics you can also see the Xwave units in there.

That really looks great! Did everything start from frags or did some of them start out as larger pieces? The tank looks really well established, I wouldn't have guessed that it was only a year old.

Most of my peices were frags and some small sized corals from the stores out here. I never bought a large colony.

The corals you see are all from my 120 which was up for 2 years + prior to my move.

Like everyone I had some setbacks from the move and the monti eating nudies which ate my larger corals that was a pain to get rid of besides looking at my montis get devoured alive.

This is prior to the move its a 120gl.

Here is a pic when it started last July/August 2006 so you can see the growth. Most of the smal frags you saw in the growout section of the sump is what is in the main tank now.

It looks like your 120 was in great shape too, it's not surprising that that the new tanks is looking so nice. You're doing a great job and it shows!

I see a few people carry the Xwave rotary device, but not the pump. From where did you order the pumps? I'd like to read up a bit on those.

Thanks

Your Tank looks really nice Robin! :) Lots of growth since last year!

Not sure if i see it correctly but you are having a pH of 6.5 in your Ca reactor? I have some hard time adjusting mine to my tank, hoping that i will eventually get it right!
