Reefsi 240 gallon In-Wall Build

HAHA I remember all that, yeah back in the good old days, now we got jobs and real life situations to deal with haha

Hey reefsi how many gallons sump would you recommend for that 180? Im just trying to figure everything out in my head like the stand and everything. For the stand did you build one?

Heres some pics of my lighting!

Its kind of blurry but its my moonlights, if you notice I had no where to mount them so I cut 2x2 blocks at a 45 and predrilled and screwed them on.

The backside moonlights

The frontside moonlights

All the lighting on camera focused on the light to make it clear.

Front view all lighting on, Kessils only at 20% in thses pics

Going to begin on the liverock today well see were that goes...

What's your method of attaching the live rock together? Please share

lighting looks great! if you want some help with the rocks today let me know I'm free. Ive always just placed rock when all water and sand is in my if i did it again i would get the putty or whatever they sell to mold whatever you want before hand while the rocks dry.

i just threw on my kessil for my nano and WOW is all i can say great shimmer and my corals never opened up so much before i was starting to think they where never growing and now with this light its obvious they just needed an upgrade great choice with kessil

The controllability of the kessilA360's are amazing. What more would you want to control besides spectrum and intensity?

Anyone have any suggestions on a cleaner package? Im thinking nassarius snails, nerite snails, dwarf ceriths, and florida ceriths. Im not sure if I should add in some crabs, any suggestions? Numbers help to.

Crabs aren't always the best idea unless you have something for them to eat. Emerald crabs are good if bubble algae appears. Hermit crabs are good for disposing of dead fish. Otherwise they'll start eating your snails.

And your snails won't last long if you don't have something for them to eat. If you put cleaners in the tank make sure you have some algae growth for them to live on or put some nori sheets in for them to eat.

Nassarius and cerith snails prefer something meaty, like fish waste and leftover fish food. For algae you're going to want Mexican turbos. To keep the sand surface clean consider some conchs. Nothing better.

But don't add clean-up crews until the tank has cycled and you're starting to bring your first fish out of quarantine and adding them to the display.

So I decided to go with the GEO 624 Reactor It will be here Monday. I have yet to purchase the regulator but I am thinking the electronic one for aquarium plants!

Reactors: GFO, GAC, and a spare powered by a Mag Drive 5
Calcium Reactor: GEO 624, Caribsea ARM Coarse media, AquariumPlants electronic regulator
Sump: 100 Gallon DIY 3/8 Acrylic
Controller: Neptune Systems Apex Gold, with LSM, VDM, Break out box(ATO), Extra lab grade PH probe, and extra EB8
Salt: Red Sea
Supplemental Flow: TBD

What do you guys think of this for APEX lighting setting.

Intensity:
Sunrise - AMI(AM Intensity)
Time: 180 Minutes
Start: 20
End: 80

Mid Day - MDI(Mid Day Intensity)
Time:1 Minute
Start: 80
End: 80

Sunset - PMI(PM Intensity)
Time: 180 Minutes
Start: 80
End: 20

Spectrum(100 is the whitest and 0 the bluest)
Sunrise - AMS(AM Spectrum)
Time: 180 Minutes
Start: 100
End: 40

Mid Day - MDS(Mid Day Spectrum)
Time: 1 Minute
Start: 40
End: 40

Sunset - PMS(PM Spectrum)
Time: 180 Minutes
Start: 40
End: 100

So I went this route because the in the AM the light is actually whiter and during the day the light is blue, this is how the sun is naturally on a kelvin scale.

So what do you think? Everyone usually goes opposite with the spectrum.
