Anyone interested? The Delaware Valley Reef Club was doing one, I was going to participate, but some things didn't work out for me. So I was wondering if any of you guys wanted to partake in a group buy?

I guess I hould have been more specific, a separate order from theirs, as I cannot participate in their group buy, but I still plan on ordering from reeftopia. So I figured I would ask anyon on DRC if they wanted to join in.
 
i will be interested in the same thing i need to replenish my clean-up crew as well. saltwaterfish.com have a good clean-up crew for cheap
 
Hey, I will be ready to do a pretty big buy soon. I'm in for reeftopia.com good prices, and I've heard a lot of good things about them. Also since the DVRC is ordering now from them we should be able to heard how there order was.

I think I've heard some negative things before about saltwaterfish.com I could be wrong, but I have a bad feeling about them. They do offer a lot though.
 
I've heard the same bad things about SWF.com, but I have ordered from them several times without issue.

In fact I think everything but the clean-up crew I bought from them is still going strong.
 
Depending on when you guys plan on ordering, I need quite a few snails and I may get the double orange rics. So does everyone get just snails, or hermits and snails? I've been reading (and seeing first hand) that you should have only one or the other. I have no snails left due to hermits! I don't know what to do with all my hermits, I can't keep buying snails like this. I have algae on my glass and rocks/sand where I just can't reach. Need a good snail package, but don't want to see it get eaten!
 
Well it really depend on how much you feed your tank and what type of hermits you have. If you have the right type of hermits they won't kill unless there are no extra shells laying around for larger homes or if they are starved.
 
I have tons of extra shells laying around, especially now, since all my snails have been killed! I feed the tank every day, there is plenty of leftovers, so they aren't being starved to the point to kill the snails. I need to get some cleaner shrimp to help eat the food particles the fish miss, they should be fine with my blue throat trigger. What crabs don't eat snails?

So when would this group buy be in effect? I read on the DVRC thread that if we get over $200, we get 10% off?
 
Personally ive ordered from SWF.com 4 times in the past and havent had any trouble with them. I even had an order get held over the weekend due to a storm and once I got it and told them everything died and what happened they asked me when I would like my new shipment... for free... alot more than I can say for other places I have done buisness with.
 
Umm I made a long post about setting up the order and stuff.. but it never went through.. but I just got home from work, and I need to go to bed before school. So I will post tomorrow. Sorry guys, goodnight!
 
No big deal, just let us know the details when you get it sorted out. I just want to know when this will likely go down, when I need the money in by. I am definitely game for snails and orange rics, just don't get paid until next friday!

So if we hit the $200 mark, we get 10% off right? Anyone clarify that? Can we get up to $200?
 
Okay, well here is the deal. I can do the ordering if you all want. The only problem with that is that I would not be home until 3-3:30. And I'm only available... thursday and friday of next week ((I had sudden stuff come up on the other days)) So my problem then is that I would not be home on tues and wed until 5pm.

I mean I can still do the order, unless someone else would perfer to do the order that way people could come over in the morning or whenever the package comes in? It would be less of a convinience for everyone else. Thats the one problem of school, but my sandbed and tank can't wait until Im out of school haha.

So I am open to suggestions.
 
If most of the people who wanted to get in on this also wanted to do the saltwaterfish order we could probably order from both places and have them both delivered to my place in Newark. How does that sound?
 
That sounds great, and we could time it for next tuesday as well? I know that day works well for me because I get out of school around 11am.
I may or may not have trouble getting up to your place Jon, my dad's car broke down, but I'll work something out.

But yeah we should get this order organized as well. Anyone else want anything?
 
So we are going to order from both? Reeftopia is free shipping, if we get over $200 it's 10% off. What is the saltwaterfish looking like? Whats the extra costs? If we get to a certain amount, we should have no extra charges I think.
 
I think the plan was to order from both. Well atleast I plan on ordering from reeftopia and I think Jon wanted some items from there as well.
So both as a group buy shouldn't cost too much in the way of shipping especially if we hit $100 with reeftopia. SWF likes to slap on a fuel and surcharge fee from what I remember.
