Reeftopia- TERRIBLE Customer Service

The last time I ordered from them, I got some surprises, the bad kind. Lost a clam because of it, they didn't respond to me.
I've ordered a lot from them over the years but not anymore, sorry to hear your story Dave, sounds like they're not the place to buy anymore.

If you don't mind, what suprises? If anything, please PM me so I don't make this any worse than it is. Thanks Bob.

This is pretty much the reason that I only buy drygoods online. It really isn't worth the hassle of paying all the shipping and whatever else to save a few bucks. Anything alive, I either get from other reefers or local stores.

You can always park your truck in their lobby.

I was going to place my clean up crew order with them, but I'm thinking I might have to send my business elsewhere now.

dwarf seahorses pretty much have the same requirements regardless of if they are 5 minutes old or 6 years old
just enough flow to keep movement, filter intakes covered with something like pantyhose to avoid horses getting ground up in an impeller, daily feeding of fresh hatched bbs, and make sure you don't have hitch hikers in their tank, dwarfs make great food for almost everything except algae

never saw the draw

if you need I've artemia cycts if you want, I'm at home till Friday
didn't notice my purse ringing this AM
I'll pm both my numbers

In response to your earlier post of what you can do about what happened, the answer may be very little or maybe something. You can certainly lodge a complaint with the local chamber of commerce, better business bureau and Florida Attorney General. The FL AG, in particular, is obligated to investigate. You can also contact the president of the company and complain directly to him. His information is public record and available via the State of Florida's Business Services - Corporations web site. In theory you do have some power behind you via this board and your ability to communicate your bad experience to thousands of his potential customers. I have no idea how much money you spent or how much time you want to invest in this but, if you find your experience to be that bad, these are some avenues available to you. Good luck!

I learned this week that if you call up your credit card and dispute a charge and they wind up taking it off the company that ran the credit gets hit with a $30 fee for each reversed charge.

My suggestion would be to call your credit card company, tell them that you did not recieved what was advertised. You tried to call the company and she hung up on you.

The CC will probably call the store and ask their side, but you might get somewhere.

Sellout007, how is receiving seahorses that are smaller then advertised the same as not receiving a product at all? How is lieing to everybody a solution that is better then finding a suitable home for the sehorses and just moving on after warning others about Reeftopia? Is it really necessary to go to that level over this? Fraud?
