We have one red legged hermit crab-- had him for a year now and he's very peaceful. Well, we had one until yesterday. Bought some razor algae and I guess the LFS guy didn't see that another one was attached to a piece and he was at the bottom of the bag when we got home.
We put him/her in our 56 gallon and a hours later I found the two like this. My "old" one is the in the black shell... the new one is in the same type of shell but with lots of corraline (sp) algae on her shell.
Ever since they found each other the black one has been on top of the pink one and from the angles I can tell they are both alive/well and there is no hostility going on... from what I can tell. :love1:
Can anyone tell me if they are long lost loves who just found each other LOL, or if this is a squabble over shells (they are the same size-- the shells)? Or something else?
They've been like this for about 18 hours! BTW, took about 10 pics and this was the clearest I could get with them right near the glass.
