65, remember when I added the baby I commented since Regals grow slow I should be able to keep her for a while in my office? If she doesn't slow down, maybe not.

Got my email alert from live aquaria this morning. Ordered a 2.5-3.25 inch Red Sea regal this morning. Found a 20 percent off coupon as well. Great start to my day.

Despite that there is still a good amount of chasing going on during the day, my Sumatra pair seems to sleep together in the same cave. At least tonight I saw them both there together.

Unfortunately and strangely, the new female currently in the acclimation box has stopped eating since I posted the video. Took a few pecks at fresh oyster but after that, it refuses to eat anything I put in the tank. It seems to be really interested in these tiny tiny little pieces of crumbs on the bottom of the box when I feed LRS reef frenzy(and only the reef frenzy seem to have this in it). This will not be enough to sustain such a fish and it will need to eat substantially more. The fish is alert but just more finicky than the last two I acclimated.

Fish arrived safely today. I searched this forum and found live aquaria usually ships with water at a sg of 1.019 so I matched my quarantine to that last night. Upon testing their water that was correct. I drip acclimated him for almost 2 hours. Would have done longer but had a doctors appointment. He swam around for a few minutes before I left. Now he is hiding in the pvc which was expected. I will try feeding him tonight. Fingers crossed but not getting my hopes up on day one. He looks to be just over 3 inches.
You're lucky you didn't kill it with a 2 hour drip!
If you had already matched the salinity, what was the point?

Ph and ammonia. I was always told to do a slow drip for acclimation. Live aquaria even recommends it.

I've done multiple drip acclimatizations without ever losing a fish due to that.
The ammonia build up only becomes a serious problem when fish are shipped over several days as it is often common with direct imports from isolated locations like for example the Solomons.
The 12h to 24h shipments take within the US should not cause a problem if the fish was packed well.
Though, these days I just plop the fish in the water. Salinity difference only matters if it is a really large difference. 1.018 to 1.025 is not an issue for most fish.
Always keep in mind that fish maintain a constant internal salinity, so changes to outside salinity have not to be adapted into the internal salinity like with many inverts.

I've had a YBR a few years ago, it was in with a couple of Tangs, Angels and Butterflies, it was never bothered by its tank mates and never had an issue feeding. Unfortunately I moved it on when I broke my tank down.
I'm really excited as I'll be picking two YBR in a couple of days. They are approx 3" and 2.5". They have been put together at the shop on my request as they've had a few in. They've told me they've picked the two best; I have a good relationship with them and trust their judgement. They've sent me a video of them the day after they arrived, they both looked great and we're eating mysis from the water column straightaway; I'm feeling really positive about them.
My dilemma is whether to put them straight into my DT or in an observation tank. My DT has been running for 4 months and the live rock has been mature for 18 months from my old tank. I have a 15us gallon QT tank running which has my Tang and other fish ready to go in. I've put on hold transferring them into my DT as I'm not sure where to put the Regals.
My DT is has no fish and full of life, my QT is fairly sterile so not sure where to put them, I don't want to upset them in any way.
Any suggestions?

If the fish are already eating, I would personally put them in the display tank. And especially the display tank does not have any aggressive fish. Just make sure you feed them nicely.

After all I've seen so far I would strongly advise to quarantine them as there is always a chance that they come with something nasty.
That said, my idea of a regal angel quarantine tank is more a reef tank without inverts or corals, one that can be quickly transformed to a treatment tank if needed.
The risk should be low if they are already eating.

my new regal eats a small amount of pe mysis soaked in garlic. He also picks at small clams on the half shell. Not as aggressive as I would like but at least he's eating a little. I'm going to try pellets tonight.

I tend to feed 6-7 times a day in the evenings with a variety of food. I don't have an issue feeding frozen everyday. Hopefully, they'll be use to feeding on a variety of foods.
I do have an alternative, I could put them both in the sump. I don't have much much space but it's not as sterile as my QT and easier to take them out if needs be.

The sump is definitely not sufficient for a pair. They will start fighting.
If your reef has no other fish you might take a risk, but you may contaminate it if they come with something bad...
And if you need to treat them you will have to get a sufficiently large treatment anyway, so you may as well set it up right now.

Would it be a mistake for me to put a piece of liverock in my qt? I was thinking of picking up a piece from my lfs. They have some that is covered with sponges and tunicates and is supposed to be cured. I would just like something for him to pick on all day. All he really seems interested in right now is clam on the half shell. He looked to take a few pieces of mysis but not sure if he just picked at them or ate them.
