Regal Angel Showoff Thread!!!!

I just got through acclimating this little guy that I got from NY Aquatics this morning. The picture is from the website labeled as a Juvenile Red Sea Mis Bar. Hopefully I can get a better picture this weekend and post.

and here is the RS Regal that I picked up from Reefbum a couple weeks ago (Reefbum's pic)...
I will try to pair them up, when I'm able to catch the Indo, and put them in a 120g together to see how they do.

Albano, great specimens!

Also, I wish you luck on pairing both of them up. Be sure to let is know how it goes with updates here or in your own thread!

Is the regal from nyaquatics eating?

It was eating on the second day, not afraid either. Comes out and swims the tank. My male is like that also he swims the 300 and never hides, although it took him over a week to start eating.

Can you post a picture of the actual fish that you got? What size tank did you put him in? Are you using a QT tank? What about the display tank he will go in?

I am using my wifes 40 gallon semi reef jawfish tank to house it in. It has been set up for about 3 years with softies, candy cane, a ball of chaeto, algae, sponges. If for some reason he/she gets sick I can remove him and place in a 10 gallon with meds if I need to. Normally all my angelfish go into a 100 gallon rubbermaid tub, but I have what I am hoping is a female adult in there and did not want to combine the two. (I am hoping the short gil plate theory works?) I used the tub for my male(page 1) before I placed him in my 300. My other two Red Sea Regals came from one of my LFS. I am hoping in 6 months I will have my male, female and juvenile in my 300. Sorry about the crummy pictures.

Beautiful fish guys! People often ask me what my "favorite" angel is... and if I had to choose one it would be the regal... I own four... had five but just lost one this year I had for over seven years... Here are some of my favorite shots of my regals through the years...

From my old 65 gallon back in 2004...

Regals rock!

Copps

Just got mine yesterday from a friend. This fish has been in Finland for 3 years now, and this is the 3rd (and final) tank for it.

Copps, your regals are absolutely stunning!!!

Rapidae, your regal is gorgeous as well. Hope to see some more pictures of it from you as it grows more.

Wow Copps, some amazing pics of your Regals, and your SPS tank looks phenomenal!

Here is another, more recent pic of my Regal, had him for a few months now and he is thriving:

question when you QT the regals.. did you do it in a tank with rock..or bare bottom. did you do copper and did they tolerat copper well. i was doing great with mine in a QT tank with some rock only.. no copper.. today he is not eating and breathing a little harder than normal and is basically in a holding swim.. i mean he is mid water in the 20 GAllon QT tank in a facing up swim position. i do not see any signs of ICK. Thinking of putting in some copper.. i have been doing water changes every other day. yester day a llittle anomia spike..

thanks

No activity in this thread for a while, thought I would rejuvenate with a recent pic of my favorite fish, and see if we can get some others posted.
