Regal Angel

Nice looking regal, I'm inclined to think it's not Red Sea. Look at the difference in anal fins between the Red Sea and Indian variety. Either way, they r both beautiful. I have a small regal from the Maldives and love it.

Is she eating yet?

I would agree with you if I looked just at the picture I posted. However I've taken a couple of videos now and just observation lets me believe it is a Red Sea Regal the black on the white bars is very large and very vibrant. In addition the the orange lines on the anal fins glows a lot more in real life than in the picture.

Haven't seen it eat yet, but I'm not concerned at this moment. It was kind of shy the first 24 hrs and has been out and about pecking at the rock recently. So I thinking it will eat tonight. Was going to try PE Mysis and Spirulina Brine. Anything I should also try?

If you can get a hold of the Larry's Reef Services food, I would highly recommend that. Finely chopped shrimp and clam on the half shell are also good options for finicky eaters.

PE is a great staple, but some finicky waters seem to dislike the heads.

You were correct. The lfs sold it as a yellow belly regal. I checked with them and it was from Sumatra (Indian Ocean). They did say it was one of the brighter ones they've seen from there.

Good news, it's been pecking at the rocks. Also has at some nori I hung in the tank and has had a mini feast on a claim in the half shell. So it's at least appear to eat.

I have been seeing some really nice Red Sea Regals lately and find myself sorely tempted. But I have invested time and effort in a nice Zooanthid collection that I would rather not have become angel food.
