How long did it take your regal angel to stop hiding, come out, and be comfortable in the tank like the rest of the fish and eating aggressively?

Thanks

i have had mine 4 days, my tank is a well-established 220 with lots of sps and anthias.. he is pretty small about 3 1/2-4"(still has the circle on his back).. he is starting to seem interested when i put mysis in the tank, as that is what he was eating at the store i bought him from

as you said it may take a while, and that means different things to everyone, about how long is your prediction?

thanks

Might.
It will probably take another day or three for him to get used to the tank. Also, some anthias can be pretty agressive. Try a few different combinations of food to see if he goes for any of it.

I just got mine last week and it took him about 5 days before he came out regularly. The funny thing was that he ate flake almost right out of the bag.

the anthias dont bother him at all, it may be that they eat food fast and he is shy to come up and grab since he is a new member.. for food im using krill, brine, mysis, romaine lettuce, and once he hopefully eats that full time i want to get him on new era mini marine grazers that tangs eat as well

Every fish is different. Most of my fish get very friendly when it is feeding time, but most even though I have had 3+ years hide if something spooks them. My Copperband that I have had for ten years is a puppy dog and when my hand goes in the tank he follows my every move and never runs away. I have a juvenile red sea imperator that is very close to that. In my office tank I have a juvenile Blueface angel that I have had for almost a year and I only see him when its feeding time and I better not move to quickly or he is gone.

I acclimated my queen and after adding her to the display she turned towards me and flared her fins. She was hungry and ate 5 minutes out of the bag.

I just got a regal yesterday. I ordered a small and they sent me a large (not complaining) that is fat and active. I had plans on putting him in qt but was just too big to go in with the other fish I put in qt so right into the dt he went. I threw pellets in about 15 mins after and he started eating right away. He comes out when I walk by the tank and isn't shy in any way. It's like he's been in the tank for a year already. There's no rule of thumb for something like this. Every fish and every tank will be different. Just be patient and you'll be rewarded soon enough.

How's the Regal doing? I've had mine for 2 weeks now and it eats pellets like crazy but still won't touch frozen food.

Just got one two weeks ago and all he will touch is little neck clams on a shell. Even then he is not aggressive about eating it. He gets leftovers after my wrasses :( he doesn't care for any of the premium frozen that I have tried.
