Regal Angel

We just added a Regal Angel we bought to our 120 gallon tank three days ago. We've noticed him hiding a lot and today he's barely swimming. Already in the tank we have two anthias, a coral beauty, and a paddlefin wrasse. Right now he is in a bucket alone with some live rock...but he's fading fast we think. What could possibly be the problem/sickness here?

pure stress...put him in the tank and watch that wrasse(i bet that wrasse is very aggressive to him) these fish will hide for a while from what i have seen as well...let him hide.....putting him in and out of the tank is gonna stress him into doom

without testing the water or noticing any symptoms this statement you make: "Right now he is in a bucket alone with some live rock...but he's fading fast we think. What could possibly be the problem/sickness here?"----------------------------------------

is a loaded question.....there are many sicknesses and without information there is no way to tell...but

undoubtedly any symptoms you do see will be brought on by the stress he has been through....best thing to do is

get him in the tank(get out any aggressors and put them back in in a few days) make sure water is clean....get him eating well...enrich his food with selcon and zoe....and leave him be

you may notice some him "ich up" but leave him he is stessed if you notice any visual symtpoms...let him be for a while and then later you may have to address this

he actually died this morning

i would lay money on it that the wrasse has stressed him to death...he is a paddlefin wrasse and is ALWAYS zooming around the tank

hard lesson learned....very hard
