Regal Angelfish in trouble

The gills are probably infected with ich, remove fiish and treat not only with the copper but I suggest Furan2 for the infected eye. Do not attempt to feed during treatment. Remember copper or formalin does nothing for the fish when the parasite is on the body. These drugs only kill during the free swimming tomite stage. The hyposalinity helps relieve the trophont stage when it's on the fish. The tomont stage is the dormant one.
 
Will a two minute dip in a 10g tank half filled with fresh water work? I can't think of another container big enough for him that is clear.
 
I think I found a better container. It's a little 1g rubber made I had planned to use to culture food such as phyto. Might be a bit small and stress him a bit, but it is very clear and should be easy to see into. Going to get it filled with RO and get it aerated now. Thanks for the help. Will keep you updated. I am also going to see if I can get some pics of his tank mates in particular the little goby that is showing some white spots.(making me lean toward ich, but we'll see what happens with the fresh dip and what you think of photos)

You can't just use just RO Water. You must adjust the pH and temp. to match the water the fish is in. Otherwise you will shock it.
 
:-/ I've been watching the temp, but the pH is a bit tricky. My pin point pH probe has been sitting in the tank with two sick fish at my grandparents. If I bring the pH probe out of that tank and into his then I'll be transporting their disease over. I bought a new probe, but didn't realize it didn't come with calibration fluid. So currently I have no way to check the pH. I've been thinking I am going to have to order a whole new meter if I want to use a second pH probe other wise I have to calibrate back and forth between the probes. (Why does it all have to be so complicated? lol)

Is there an easy way to clean the probe I currently have working and calibrated with my meter?
 
Hate them, don't trust them. Own 3-4 of them and none of them agree. Perhaps I have some kind of color blindness, but I purchased too many of these things in the past that don't agree with each other. I suppose I could use them to get the pH sort of close. Enough for a two minute dip.

Ok I need help. I got the pH and temp to match for the freshwater dip, but unfortunately couldn't catch him with out using a net. There were little white circles left in the tub I dipped him in when I pulled him out, but I was wondering if they might be scales. I am going to try to upload a pick asap. Please hang out a bit.

PS I had to dump the entire jug of freshwater into his hospital tank.
 
Ok the pictures suck, but I hope you can see something or look in the vid. Is there a website with pics of what I might be looking for in the bottom of the freshwater jar? It wasn't cloudy and these flat discs are all I saw.

Flukes!! Your fish has flukes. Great pics. Now that you know what he/she has it can be treated. These are showing up quite frequently in the past couple of years. Your fish should feel a little better now, but they are not gone. I treat all fish with flukes with Prazipro. Copper does nothing to these guys.

What do you mean they aren't showing up in the thread? Are you sure they are flukes? The size "just dave" talks about is about the size of what I have, but the picture he posted two years ago is gone.

Also if I use Prazipro I realize it is not reef safe, but will it ruin the silicon in the tank I use it in? I was hoping to set up the 37g tank that they are in as a reef later and was worried it might leak back out. Meanwhile I am going to route through my bottles of meds and see if I have any prazipro. I know I had it at some point.

I'm positive you have flukes.

I meant the pictures in the old thread showing what a fluke looks like.

I've never heard of it affecting the silicone or leaching out later. Shouldn't be a problem.
 
I also wanted to ask how long I should leave my tanks the fish came out of fish free? Since the flukes often times only live on the fish do I need to leave the tanks fish free for 8 weeks to make sure there is nothing left? Reason I ask is because I have fragged off a lot of stuff I want to start trading soon, but I don't want to pass around anything bad.

The tank is about a half full 36g tank. I was thinking of using just a half a teaspoon after a partial water change, then after three days doing a 25% water change every other day. Three days from now if the fish look good I will start to introduce different foods in small quantities.

Sound like a good plan?
 
With each water change make sure to add more Prazipro.

1 teaspoon = 4.92 ml

1 ml = 15.4 drops

So if you do a 5 gallon change each time add 1.23 ml or about 19 drops of Prazipro.
