i know with most angels you cant know for sure, most aren't completely reef safe, but i recently saw 2 reef tanks with big beautiful regal angelfish in them.
both people told me regals are the most reef safe of the large angel minus Genicanthus angels I am just wondering if anyone has any experience keeping regal in a reef tank, and maybe you can share your experience with me.

i am looking for people who have tired it, and what type of corals they kept in the tank. i know its a risk but i currently have a coral beauty and a flame angel and they both great citizens

yes i heard there hard to keep, you really need to make sure you get a healthy one. but i saw one in a 90 corner tank with a powder blue, clownfish and few wrasses and anthies. it was so beautiful and sps and lps where all over the tank. guy told me was key to get a good one, make sure its eating.

Have kept Regals on a few occasions. Regional variants are not all as easy to keep. The least attractive gray belly is actually the hardest. All my Regals were OK with SPS but all ate Zooanthids with gusto. One enjoyed eating LPS, two left it alone. One liked nipping clams, two didn't. I'd view it as less reef safe than most dwarf Angels, though about the same as a LemonPeel.

Lots of regal keepers on the reef fish page.

Ok thanks. Yes I didn't see any Zoas or clams in the tanks. I will ask more people. I do have 3 clams
