Regular Colored Clownfish vs Extreme or premium?

When breeding clownfish do you have a higher chance of getting premium or extreme colors if you breed with extreme and premium clownfish? Ive been looking for some clairity on this as most of the breeding pairs I see don't seem be extreme or premium. Thanks :beer:

A lot depends on what you call "extreme" or "premium" and the genetics involved.

These websites that are selling these clownfish seem to go by how much color is on the fish. Like having them covered by a lot of whit like a snowflake or having more black on a onyx there calling them either extreme or premium. So I was wondering if it was worth paying more for a breeding pair of extremes or premiums.

A pair of bulldogs will have bulldog puppies. They are very unlikely to produce a poodle... but they could. You're asking if a pair of bulldogs are more likely to have bulldog or poodle puppies.

Dont get me wrong it may be a dumb question. i just thought it was worth asking before i spend the money on the more expensive ones. I know everyones a comedian. :lolspin:

the advantage is not much greater. for example snowflakes. if you have a super snow pair that breeds you might only have a few extra super snows in the batch. im talking less than a dozen out of hundreds. most breeders makes sure the male is the prettiest and best fish to use cause most of the good genes come from the males. i have a pair of super snowflakes and 2 pairs of extreme snowflake males with regular occy females. my % of having nice snowflakes is about the same as them coming from the super snow pair.
