Way to go Kenny!
Is this in a tank or did you find a jar? Bubbles look a little too small.
Are you going to use greenwater in the nursery?
What feeding regime are you planning?

i found 2 gallon hex tanks at walgreens for 6 bucks. i have two of them. yes i have greenwater with rotifers in there. they seem to be doing fine so far. shouldnt some have died. i tried turning the bubbles off to see if any fell out but they were all swimming. sometimes they are on the bottom and look dead and then they get up and swim. go figure. i plan on feeding them the same way you did. i read your info and having been going that way. rotifers and greenwater in there with them. lights 24/7. move to bbs after 2nd week. i am having success your way so far, why fight it. change water every two days. right now i have them in two containers, when do i need to start spreading them out? sooner or later its gotta get crowded. i really appreciate your help. my next mission is to hatch brine shrimp.

I have found that some batches will have a lot of drop out right off the bat, while others seem to go forever before any losses start to happen. I think it depends perhaps on the condition of the parents at the time of the particular birth.
I wasn't in any hurry to split them up for the first four to six weeks, depending on the batch.
I would start now hatching out the brine shrimp, especially if you plan to do the recommended decapping treatment.
If you bleach a touch too long they won't hatch out. Best to experiment until you KNOW you have it down pat.
You can filter off the live nauplii that you don't need now, and freeze them in on waxed paper so someday you can break off a portion, thaw, and add to the nursery with the live ones. Hopefully this will get them on to eating frozen foods sooner.

That's right.
The owner of the parent horses moved to Calgary but the horses are still at his inlaws.
Once he is set up for the horses, I'll have to drive to the city where his inlaws live and deliver them to a company that is going to ship the horses out to him in Calgary.
If they start producing again, maybe I'll have to check out the cost of overnight shipping from Calgary to London.
Seahorse fry can be shipped overnight if packed up right after birth, and about 250 to 300 to a four litre bottle with no air in the bottle.
We use the four litre plastic juice bottles that have a plastic handle on the neck of the bottle.
Has to be packed so the couriers don't know its liquid and/or that there is life inside.
It's not bad to ship within Ontario but I expect it will be a lot from Calgary.
I should find another supplier anyway to expand the gene pool.

that's a bummer. i wonder how much i could ship them to you for. if its not outrageous, i would try to do it. pm your address and i will check into it. basically its about 30lbs, correct?

I really appreciate the offer but would only accept if you have more than you can handle for yourself.
I think 30 lbs would cover two bottles as the bottles without packaging are only 9 1/4 lbs with salt water and fry.
I'll contact you thanks.

ok, even better. if these things give birth every two weeks, that's more than i can handle. so i would gladly send u some. ill probably try and keep the next bunch or two and we'll see where it goes from there. i can definitely see this getting out of hand.
