Remember when... (everyone chime in!)

I remember when I bought my setup from a guy and he used a lot of dead coral for decoration. Now dead coral makes me cry. :eek2:

remember sticker shock?!?! Like the first time you spent more than $15 bucks on a fish? and you were like what? I can't believe I just spent that much on a fish!

Remember when damsels were the bomb and reading a protein skimmer named seaclone going well I have a 55 gallon tank and it says rated for 120 why does everyone tell me its a piece of junk I want one opps then 3 leaks and two powerstrips later its off to the store saying ok you were right this is junk

I remember how pumped I was when I saw copepods on the glass. "BABE!!! look!!! I'm doin' it right!". I had a similar reaction to the first little blip of coralline on the glass.

I remember them as well, used to buy a ton of stuff in there. I also remember when you could buy a yellow tang for 12.00 and clownfish were 8.00. Man those were the days.....

:D
anyone remember the old tanks with the metal frames and slate bottoms ?

I sure do.

We got our first back in 1967. I still had a couple left over back in the mid seventies too. Even the small sized ones were heavy.
Bumpers on cars still had chrome back then too, not just tanks!

I remember when they decided that a metal frame/rimmed tank was not a good idea too. :D

Pets Stores:

I liked doolittles. I remember the Iguana they had being loose all the time and though I did not know him back then. I remember Tom(TRS) when he worked there. They had some cool reptiles and birds in that place.

I also remember Tri-City Pets. Once they had a couple really nice display tanks of some exotic big boys.

FWIW I loved Doolittle's, too. (Except for all of those noisy birds!)

I'm going to make the claim to be CF's first customer.
I didn't actually make a purchase because there wasn't much livestock to choose from. Mille had birds, too- you had to walk through the aviary in the garage.
