Removing green stars from a crocea

One side of my crocea (4") is completely covered in green star polyps. Doesn't seem to be bothering it...they've been there for over a year. I move him to the bottom of my tank so I can easily remove him.

Any suggestions on how to EFFECTIVELY remove the polyps?

I've tried scrubbing with tooth brush and tried picking them off, but no luck.


Any suggestions appreciated.
