Removing green stars from a crocea

Ive posted over in the clam forum, but wonder if I'll get any responses....

One side of my crocea (4") is completely covered in green star polyps. Doesn't seem to be bothering it...they've been there for over a year. I moved him to the bottom of my tank so I can easily remove him.

Any suggestions on how to EFFECTIVELY remove the polyps?

I've tried scrubbing with tooth brush and tried picking them off, but no luck.

Any suggestions appreciated.

You can try to lift one edge of them up with a razor blade. After you get one edge up, you should be able to peel them off. I'm suprised the toothbrush didn't do the trick. I've scrubbed rocks covered with them before and they died off after.

I was surprised as well. At first, they wernt too happy about it, but then came back with a vengence.

I'll try the razor-peel.

If your able to peel them off and want to keep them, then you can wrap them around a rock and secure them to it with a rubberband. Within a week or so, they'll be attached to the rock.
