I am sure that the Wolf, much like myself, was walking around MACNA thinking to himself how can I improve my system. I need to eliminate and streamline tasks/chores that are a pain in the neck and sometimes get neglected.
Now, I cannot speak for the Wolf, but in my case I had neglected filling up my bio pellets because I had a giant reactor with thumb screws. To be able to add bio pellets I had to drag the reactor out of the sump which is housed under the stand. Undo the 8 thumbscrews, pull the grate out and create a big mess. Then reverse all of that to put it back in.
Recently, I had let the bio pellets almost deplete and nutrient levels had risen in my tank. I then added a bunch of bio pellets all at once because doing so gradually would be such a pain. Of course nutrient levels quickly dropped. And of course this ticked off a few corals. So, while I do not claim to be as wise as the Wolf, I think he would agree that the transition to these easy to fill reactors was a good move.
