Replace Dart or buy Vortech

After looking at the cost of Darts and Dart Golds, I could add another Vortech MP40W for the same price. I have 2 Vortechs now and really like them.

I'm already plumbed for a closed loop, but I could always cap them off. The OM 4-way on the closed loop hasn't worked for a while and is acting as a manifold.

The warranty on the Dart Gold is 5 years, and the Vortech is 1 year. This is the only strong point in favor of the Dart in my mind.

Flow on both options is roughly the same.

I could get more random flow with another Vortech.

Power draw on the Vortech is 28W, Dart Gold is ~170W

Buying both is not an option. :eek2:

After enumerating everything, I'm leaning toward the Vortech.

Help me decide!

Go Vortech. Save Electricity. I thought my Sequence Wahoo with Penductors(closed loop) was all the rave. Now that is" Old School".

Can't argue with that. Most of my tank is "old school" which isn't necessarily bad, but some of those old ideas just didn't work out well. DSB for me is just a nutrient sink (and release).

I actually just added a penductor to my return manifold, which I think is a good place for them.
