Well it looksa as if going with too fine a substrate really did a number on my tank. The entire sandbed was black with metal sulfide deposits and stunk to high hell from H2S. Due to my ingenious rock work all my fish evaded capture. So I had to swap out the sand on the fly with them in their hidey holes. Replaced the sand with a coarser cut of argonite. Hopefully it will not go bad. Suprised how fast the original sand went titts up.
