Replacing L. maculata with an unknown small, green piercer

Hi everyone,
with the loss of my L. maculata, I am wanting to replace him with another stabber. The local pet shop has a small (about three inches) stabber that, from what I have seen of him, seems to be all green in colour. Does anyone have a guess as to what species this may be? The shop has no scientific name, or collection data, and I would like to be sure that the tank is set up properly as to avoid major disasters.

I will probably pick this guy up on Friday, and once I have him I will try and post a pic so that I can get a positive id.

roy's list

my guess is neogonodactylus wennarae(i have several of these, one large one and one baby in my reef, possibly one intermediate in there as well, as well as one intermediate in a separate tank), but you said stabber and that is a smasher...these are very common, from what i hear and read, in rock coming from the southeastern coast of the us, especially florida...look at the thread called "roy's list is here" (under mantis shrimp) and then click on the link to find pics of the many different species to see if you can identify the one you are looking to buy...good luck

From what I saw on Roy's list, Pseudosquilla ciliata, seems most likely. I will have to get a good look at his eyes and look for the checkerboard pattern.

Thanks,
Jay
