replacing Osmolator sensor

Can the optical sensor be replaced? If so can it be purchased separately or does the whole unit have to be sent in for repair. The green light stays on when the water level drops (so pump does not start) the high water alarm works. The sensor has been cleaned. I have tested the unit away from the fishroom to rule out magnetic or x10 interference. The Osm is 2years old. Thank-you

It can be replaced, it is generally outside the realm of DIY as it has 4 very small wires that must be soldered to the board. If you have experience and own a soldering iron with good temp control and a needle tip you can probably do it. I would contact Xenia Inc. , the Tunze Distributor for Canada and see if they can get you the part. It is not a standard spare part but they can be acquired. They cost about $28.
