Replacing Sicce 2500 with a Jebao

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with replacing their skimmer pump with a jebao dcr needlewheel pump.

I'm looking to do it, thinking the dcr3000 or 4000. I see that ATB went with jebao as the motor with the air star but I'm not willing to pay 300 for one.

Anyone have any experience with doing this?

I wonder same thing.. I can buy jebao in half price or less(but also without custom volute and needleweel). Dnt know about performances, cant find data about jebao with needlewheel, my guess is that has lower air draw than atb?

Do you have a link to a Jebao DC pump that comes with a needle wheel? I can't say I've been looking, but then I've never heard of anybody ask about one before.

Well I purchased a DCR4000 just now. Its a Jebao relabeled as a Redstarfish brand. Its on the big auction site. They also have a 6000 but I figured it would be too big for my application. I will post the mod updates when I get the pump in.

This should be a fairly easy plug and play though.

That's where I had to order it from. Jebao doesn't sell the DC4000 with the needlewheel, and their cone skimmer uses the 3000. I didn't know if the 3000 would be strong enough for mine since my cone looks to be about 25% bigger.
