Gorgeous! Nice DOF for the frogs. The 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th are my favorites. What setup did you use (body, lenses, flash) and editing program?

Were you down there for a school related trip? Researching the spread of the Chytrid fungus? It's really good to know you can still find some of those beautiful little guys in the wild.

Good Job!

lol thanks!

It was a mixture of lenses (Pentax 16-50 F2.8, Pentax 50-135 F2.8, Pentax 300 F 5.6, Sigma Macro 105mm F2.8) but all on the Pentax K20d Body.

I am here with about 30 other californian students studying abroad. its a Tropical biology and conservation curriculum. We have been camping in isolated islands/ forests/ beaches ect and these are just a few of the fauna we came across. the frogs were most abundant in the south where it was very very warm. Perhaps the Chytrids cant tolerate the heat. Here in monteverde I havent seen almost any frogs (where the golden toad once was found)

You just keep banging out winners! That caimen and the leaf snake are fascinating. I'm a sucker for poison dart frogs as well, you really worked some magic here!

Damn it TS! I was trying to formulate an insightful reply involving poison dart frogs and you beat me to it!

Lovely photos. Please enhance my vicarious enjoyment by posting some more.

Those are great frog pictures. I never realized how small they were until I went to Costa Rica.

If you get a chance take a picture of the macaws flying- they are magnificent!

Oh, and what is the green and orange snake? Looks like a form of pit viper and it looks scary!
