Hi,
Looks good jonathan, thumbs up.
Frank

Frank, you and Anthony should come through soon so you can check out the Vortechs first-hand..

Hay Jon,
Looks great, I love that ATI fixture the tank is nice and bright. You will be happy with it. Can't wait to see you start stocking it. You're doing it right, slow and steady. Keep the pics coming. Two thumbs up!!

Anthony

Very good light spread coming out of the ATI, do you have any dark spots?

Thanks Rickyrooz1. The light spread at eight inches above the water is great with no visual dark spots. Since the Tank is 36 inches from front to back, I was really concerned about that. The nice part, is that the lighting at the very front and the back of the tank are perfect for LPS if you want to mix it up a bit. As bright as it is, I'm incined to believe that I could get away with clams and/or SPS at the very front as well.

Thanks Ant! Your hanging idea worked out awesome! I learned a long time ago about rushing with this obsession of ours. Thanks for your help.. I am soooo looking foward to getting some frags from your beautiful tank! :)

Hi Jon,
Sorry for waking you.
Ok cootie treatment is done, Fish bugged out a little but all in all everything went well. Corals and clams all look good. I dont see any flatworms at ALL. The stuff seems to work very well. Time will tell.
Frank

Fantastic Frank! I'll keep my fingers crossed. You executed a solid plan. So, I am sure that things will turn out ok.. I was comatose when you called  I didn't get in until early this morning.

Great looking tank, lets hope this one reaches its "grow out" :)

Thanks 1DeR9_3Hy,

Yes, let's hope

Hey everyone, I was messing around with my iPhone 3G S and took the following pics.. The damn thing actually takes really decent pictures to be a phone... The auto white balance is actually pretty good.

As an update, I am in my second week of dosing vodka.. The water is starting to get even clearer. At one point I noticed the tank looked a bit cloudy.. My guess was that I was adding a bit too much mb7, which I used to seed the tank. As soon as I backed off the MB7, the tank started clearing up day by day.. Please note that I never stopped dosing the vodka. I will restart with the recommended dosage of MB7 on the weekend coming up. As for equipment, I've added a Reef Fanatic Liquid Level controller or auto top-off purposes.

Please don't flame me about all the clowns. :eek1: They actually got added at different times, but the female True Perc took a carpet dive followed by one of the original seabae's. I replaced the fallen seabae and then I decided to go with Tomatoes.. They're really beautiful and seem to already be going through the stages of pairing. Everyone's getting along right now, but I know that wil not last so, the perc and the two sebaes will be removed this weekend..

With Dusk/Dawn lights (Korallin Fiji Purple and Geisemann true Antinic)

stunning.

Thank you for your kind comment Leslie.. How is the reefing Hobby in the mother land?

Looking great! Man, I am envious of your extra bulbs and tank width! Glad the vodka and MB7 are working out well for you.

I keep trying to hold myself back from getting a larger rimless tank. Perhaps next spring.... :D

Thanks Bro... The extra width is pretty cool.. I am going to try my best to use the real estate as effectively as I can. I want the side view to be just as nice as the front.. I just hope that I can achieve the success with my tank that you have with yours.. I may be the wrong person to tell that you want a bigger tank... I have a little problem controlling myself when it come to spending money with this hobby  When you make that move, I will be right there for the ride!

Wow!! What a wonderful start! I can't wait to see how this one progresses!!

Question: how much evaporation have you noticed so far?

Thanks eaglesrx!

I couldn't really tell you how much evaporation I'm getting because of the auto top-off. I can tell you that without halides heating up the water, evaporation is much slower. T5s don't really radiate any heat..... into the water or the room. They're great... This summer, I don't really expect my chiller to turn on.. I remember how hot my basement would get from the lights on my last tank... My chiller ran "all the time" in the late spring, summer and early fall months... I can now truly enjoy my basement year-round.
