Returning to what I love - My new 180 Rimless

deltec skimmer then bubble king...dosing controller...vortec...crazy nice mostly expensive fish. i say this is all grade a populated and equipment stuff.
Bubble king is really doing an excellent job in cleaning the water not that Deltec didn't do a good job although Bubble king is cheaper than Deltec i would say.
i always think to myself that one day i can afford these equipment...yeah!

The KZ Fiji Purple is such an awesome bulb and when mixed with a blue+ for Dusk/dawn, the color mix is outstanding.

I was running the ATI procolor with them, but it is now discontinued. Did you hear ATI has a purple coming out! I hope to have my hands on one soon!

This hobby can definitely tax the pockets. My reasons for going from Deltec to BK was about air draw... My Deltec was awesome, but could not inject the amount of air that some of the newer skimers can. I needed to get more oxygen into my tank.. The PH in my tank is surepressed due to it being located in the basement and my sump located in the boiler room.. The BK helped out a lot.. I wish my BK was less than my Deltec! not true in my case..

I've seen the Procolor in action.... Nice bulb. It's a bit more red than the KZ Fiji Purple.. Yes, I believe they may have already come out with it..

Taz.. You'r right, I don't believe the ATI Purple Plus is out yet, but word from another site is that they are scaling back on the red spectum that is evident in both the Procolor and the KZ Fiji Purple to produce a more purple hue with similar high par values as the Fiji purple and Blue +...

I do know that KZ now has the Super Blue available, which supposedly rivals the ATI Blue +, but I have not seen any test result.

Hey Jon....I noticed in an old thread of yours that you battled cyano. I have some right now that is just in the front on the sand. How did you bet it?

WoW!
The tank is looking GREAT!

Ευχαριστώ my friend! I've seen your tank and it is amazing!

Hey D, Yep.. I used Microbe Lift Special Blend. It's a bacteria source like Brightwell's MB7. As suggested, I gave it a try and within 5 weeks, the red capet as I call it was gone.. After the 5th week, you're supposed to continue with a maintenance dose and I let that slip so, it came back, but it's back under control now... SB is really good stuff, just stick with it and it usually works wonders. Many believe that wet skimming seams to help as well.. I don't know the specifics behind it, but I have witnessed a difference myself dealing with cyano between wet and dry skimming..

LOVE the stand! A roll out sump sometimes would be such a great convenience! I'm really interested in the corner bracing that you are using for your tank. can you take a top down shot so we can see the exact profile of how it is being used? I'm picturing something like a square piece with two C channels cut into it. If that is what it is, it makes a lot more sense vs the "traditional" method of sealing aquarium corners. Something I'm interested in doing when I build my "real" saltwater tank. :)

Thanks! Sure daks.. I'll try to take a picture tonight. I hope I don't fall in ;) Rollout sumps are very cool. Fortunately, I had enough room to place my sump in the room behind my tank so there was no need to go that route, but boy could that save your back if you need to use the space under the tank for your sump..

Hey Taz,

I read on another post that someone is actually already using the ATI Purple +. I'd actuall love to see it in action.

was there any opinion on it? I can't wait myself. I was going to order one or two, but I think the kids would appreciate food much more:sad2: I may have to wait a while

Unfortunately, there was no opinion because he had just received it... As for the Children..... LOL.. I would agree!

Here you go daks.. The rods are in all for corners of the tank as well as going around the inside bottom of the tank..

If you want to get the most out of your bulbs and get the most PAR you should face all of the bulbs the same way and all of the labels toward the fan side. They are designed to get better cooling this way and in turn youll get more PAR. There is a thread about it somewhere and if i can find it ill post it to you or someone that was involved with the thread can mabe chime in. Tanks looking great though, absolutely amazing!!!

As I suspected, My vendor was right on top of the damage situation with the Fixture come Monday morning.. I really can't say enough about the guys at PA... We are in the process of working it all out.. In the interim, I took the opportunity to mount the fixture so that I could have the cables in place in case I decided to wait for another fixture... So, here are some preview shots:
