I will be treating once a week for four weeks. After that, the plan is every six months.. sooner if I see one of these guys rear its head!
Cut a frag of of one of my to tricolor valida colonies.. I didn't have any revive, so I used a strong dose of TMPCC.. No worms came off the frag... Hopefully, a very good sign..
That was really good news for me as well. After the treatment, I changed out about 40gallon of water and put in some fresh carbon. I changed the filter socks, placed my skimmer cup on and got my ozone started. The fish started coming out from hiding, but did not eat. Upon inspecting the tank this morning.... Thankfully, everything was looking really good. I saw pods scuttling, clams open and even some brittle stars made it.. Immediately, I notice a couple of Milli frags that have shown no growth or polyp extension in months.... They actually had polyps extended... not fully, but a clear sign that they are relieved by what was done... Hopefully, more extension and growth will follow.. Treatment #2 will probbly be next Tuesday or Wednesday... More to follow.
Hey Brett, So far so good. I haven't seen the tank since this morning, but I am anxious to get home and take a look.. I was reflecting today about how much this hobby had changed between the time I had to pull out in early 2006 and starting again in 2009. I didn't even know what an acro eating flatworm was at that time and never quarantined my coral. They say ignorance is bliss. I never had a problem other than redbugs! Go figure.
Thanks clowndude! The Millis were the first to decline in my tank and I could not understand why for the life of me.. I never thought I would be so happy to see some polyps! They are truly my favorite coral and I could not keep them...
Well, I just got home a few moments ago and figured I would take a few pics after feeding to show as proof that everything seems to be ok from the initial Levamisole treatment.. The Fish did not really touch the nori today, but they could not resist the frozen...I guess the levamisole got the worms in their stomaches too! My Grandmother use to say to me growing up "Must be the tapeworms in you, you sure can eat! :lol: Miss that woman

Ok guys.. Last treatment was on this past Monday and I did not have good results. I typically use a MJ1200 to blast the corals for flatworm. So I have used this method during the Levamisole treatments as well.. I remember a time when My MJ1200 would blast the little critters right off the coral, but Ithink the little bastoges have something in common with the Star Trek BORG... they adapt.. Upon finishing a 9 hour treatment, I decided to use my turkey baster instead and AEFWs began dislodging from two of my colonies previosly blasted with the mj1200 earlier in the treatment.. And....%^%$@! they were alive. I caught a few and totally nuked them with the leftover Levamisole concoction that i had left. But what a bummer to see these things alive.. Next treatment I will bump of my dose by .5 grams and this time I will turn off my skimmer. Even Though I took the top off during treatment and allowed the foam to flow back into my sump, the mixture of air may lessen the concentration of the medication in the water.. More to follow.

Well, I have always trusted my instincts in this hobby and I decided to stop treating after three treatments of Levamisole. I found certain corals stressing, fish appetites being suppressed and TN for what seemed like no reason with one of my caps.. I totally lost my ponape BN, but happy to know that a buddy down the road has a colony that has grown from mine so that I can recover it.. I'm glad that it has worked for some, but I am at the point where I feel Levamisole is better suited to QT tanks only, where only corals will be treated. Here are a few pics from today..
