Rhinelander

First off, I am new to the hobby getting ready to put water in my first tank. I have made two orders with the Doctors which were on my doorstep essentially next day because the orders were placed in the evening and showed up two days later. I am very impressed and plan on doing a lot more business with you folks.

My question, is the live rock shipped from Rhinelander or from another location. I ask this because I am within a few hours and it would be very cost effective for me to pick it up if that's possible. I think I remember seeing that you also have a brick and mortar store in Rhinelander. Just curious, and another bonus would be an excuse to be in the Northwoods for a little while if the rock is sold from the store.

Duff Man,

We are happy to hear you have had good experiences with ordering from our company. We look forward to doing future business with you. We usually do have rock in our Drs. Foster and Smith Retail Store located in Rhinelander, WI. The rock sold in our store will be priced differently from what is online and in the catalog and may vary in type. We suggest before making the trip that you contact our retail store to find out pricing and what is available. We also sell rock through our Diver’s Den section. This rock can be ordered over the phone or online to your designated shipping address or picked up at our retail store in Rhinelander.

Sincerely,

Gwen S.

The Rhinelander store is a very good store with knowledgable people in it. They do sell cured LR in the store that sits in big containers to pick from. They will ship it by boxing it up and putting a wet towel on the rocks. The rock I think runs around 7$ a pound there. They also have a good selection of corals/fish usually and also what you see on the website I think is in their warehouse just next door to the retail store so you can get about anything that is on their website in the store also.

Good store, have fun! :D

I guesss I was hoping that the LR was the same price in the store as it is online. If that was the case, it would be a good deal even after the drive. I do plan on checking out the store this spring. I have a business trip each year that brings me to Merril which is pretty close.
