Ricordea Florida - time it takes to attach to substrate

Hi everyone.

Do you know how long it takes for a ric to attach to substrate. Currently have 9 of them that have a foot and mouth but not attached to any substrate.

They are in a Tupperware container with coral substrate and covered with some mesh in order to stop them from disappearing when disturbed by current or fish.

It really depends on how much light they're getting, your alkalinity, and other water issues. Sometimes they can attach in a few days, other times weeks if ever depending on your alkalinity.

Have you found a relationship between ricordea and alk values? I always assumed they wouldn't care as much. Interesting.

Had a couple of these built to see if they help with flow etc when rics want to attach. Used seachem matrix stones as the substrate for the rics to attach too.
