Hey guys, I'm new to RC but I have threads up on some other forums.

My tank has been up for about 2 years and everything has been grown from a 1" frag. It has gone through a lot of changes over the time its been up mainly because I'm never truly happy with the rock work.
Its a 75 gallon tank with a mp40wes and wp25. 6 bulb tek t5 fixture, nac 7 and plans to hopefully add a calcium reactor in the near future.

This is an older picture of my tank IMG_2177.jpg

Hey dude, welcome to RC. Nice to see you here.

Let me say that I love your tank! Been an inspiration for me for a while now (I follow this tank on the other forum for those who dont know).

Keep up the great work!

I've seen this tank in person and I must say that the pics don't do it justice. The colors are beautiful in person. Keep up the good work!

Great coral choices and amazing colors too rideit:thumbsup:
I love it when they grow from frags to colonies, welldone!

How do you manage tank's demands(alk,ca) now?

Thanks! the contrasts between growth styles and colors is what attracts me most to sps...that and the challenge.

I dose B-Ionic alk and calcium everyday by hand 50ml :headwalls: I have dosing pumps but am reluctant to hook them up and add more wires to the mess I already have under the tank. Someone is building me a cover for the stand and the plan was to wait until that was done to set up the dosers but a friend of mine is trying to get to me use a calcium reactor instead. I'm not against it, just hesitant as it will be my first reactor. There are pros and cons of both dosing and the reactor but I guess I'm just nervous of the initial wait and test set up of the reactor and hope theres no alk spike.

Couldn't agree more with what attracts you to sps:)
Absolute addiction...:)

Had a calcium reactor some years ago.
Sometimes i miss it,sometimes i don't.
Both methods have their pros and cons, like you said.
Hope everything goes smooth during setting it up:thumbsup:

Updating some pictures. Still thinking about adding a calcium reactor. Got my apex all set up, big thanks to the tech guys for helping me through it!

Nicely done and welcome. You have some nice color in there. I have to agree that watching them grow into colonies is cool.

Great job with your tank; everything is beautiful!

I always enjoy seeing Copperbanded Butterflies. They are one of my favorite fish. Again, wonderful work.

I would stick with dosing two part for 75 gallon, why complicate things.
You already have the dosers, just connect them to controller.
There's an Excel spreadsheet on Apex forum that gives you the timer setting based on amount you want to dose
Use Randy's two part recipe to save $. Much cheaper.

Hey guys, I know its been a while since I've been on here and I'm constantly reminded to "take a minute and post on one of our threads" and a bunch of my friends have been pming me about where I've been but I've been so busy and some crap went down so heres the explanation. I added a product to rid my tank of the red slime problem I had and took all the steps in preventing anything from going wrong...but, lost all my fish due to the lack of oxygen (yes even with all the things I did to prevent this) and I lost...my pearlberry colony :(

Luckily everything else stayed strong and survived and the tank is doing great again. I have some new fish in qt and some big things planned for the tank in the future so stay tuned!

Man this sucks, I just saw this thread and was thinking holy crap, look at all those sticks! I lost a pearlberry colony a few years back, that is when I broke down my tank and took a break, I was devastated... Losing fish, corals, or really any creatures in the tank sucks, I hope you get through it and all works out well, sorry for the losses. Best!

Sorry about the loss of fish and the Pearlberry colony...sucks big time...but that's the thing with this hobby...it tests you now and again and you just have to take it on the chin and carry on.

Be sure to post us some photos of your beautiful tank when things are a bit better. :)
