Hey guys, I am posting this for a friend who is new on RC. This is a project we have been working on now for a few weeks. His username on here is SuperTs. He will be chiming in as the build goes on.

The tank is being built by Aquarium Obsessed now and should be ready in about 3 weeks. Tank dimensions are - 48x42x26,19mm glass, Front and right pane PPG Starphire, External overflow back center. Tank works out to be around 230 gallons. Rimless!

The Sump is a custom cast acrylic 3/8", 54x24x16. Roughly 90 gallons. That gives us the 320 gallon system.

The tank will be located on his main floor in his entertainment room. We have been building the fish room that is in the basement directly below the tank. This will have Sump, Utility sink, Dehumidifier, 2x60 gallon containers 1 for ro/di and 1 salt. The fish room will also have its own ventilation system that is on it own. Try to keep most of the humidity out of the house. It is already set up on a digital timer that is vented to the outside. Also house Ca reactor and a 40 gallon frag tank, and all other necessary equipment.

He runs his own machine shop and is custom fabricating a steel stand that will be finished in high grade stainless.
The system will all be plumbed for easy water changes so no buckets will be necessary.

Equipment

Skimmer - Bubble King SM 200
Lighting - Sfilogoi 12x54w Stealth
Controller - Profilux
Oceans Motions 4 way closed loop
2xVortech mp40w
Ca Reactor - Still have not decided.

I will add the rest of the equipment as the build moves forward.

As progress moves along we will post lots more pics! Should have the fish complete in the next few days. Drywall, painted, epoxy the floor. Then we will start running the plumbing.SuperTs SuperTs

Jar head. The sump is from advancedreefaquatics.com It really is top notch quality. All edges and baffles on both sides are polished.

We will likely be finished up the fish room by the end of the weekend. Still have Epoxy the floor, drywall, tape and paint.

Looks good. A suggestion on the light combo, try swappin out one of the actinics for a fiji purple, so the sunrise/sunset combo is 1 actinic, 2 blue plus, and 1 fiji purple. I am really digging the coloration this gives - the actinics pops greens and oranges, the blue plus pops blues, and the fiji purple pops reds and pinks, so it makes for a very cool combo.

Definitely all quality equipment. It makes me uneasy seeing such a nice fixture balanced on those little chairs, though, lol. If the rest of the build follows suit, it should be a terrific reef tank.

WOW - love his equipment of choices.....

Thanks Ed, looking forward too seeing your new project come along.

A few pics of the rock that has been cooking for about 5 weeks now. Weekly 100% water changes with dunking and swishing the rock to clean it.

Aquascaping will be nice and open, using acrylic rod to build a combination of arches and islands
