Does anyone know if Deep Sea Aquatics will customize a rimless tank? I'm trying to find out all the options I have to send my tank spec sheet to, who will provide me with a quote...I want a glass tank...so no acrylic makers...

1. AGE
2. GlassCages
3. Deep Sea Aquatics?
4. ?
5. ?

I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I'll be ordering a 36x30x20 1" thick, black back, and external overflow from James in about a month. I was really hesitant to ask him on a price until I saw your pics GSMguy. ;)

Acrylic tanks? I don't know why I don't care for them...you tanks look sweet, but I just don't have a good feeling for an acrylic tank...just a feeling I guess. Nothing against anyone who has one...just a personal opinion for me.

Sweet dimensions, how many gallons is that?

James' quote with shipping was lower than another company here in ohio without shipping.

It's roughly 74g going by the inside dimensions.

GRRR my tank is 4 feet and still smaller.

i wonder how much more 20 inches tall would have been? i never even asked:rolleye1:

Quick question off topic, how do you all get that name below your screen name? Mine says "Registered Memeber" yours has "clownfish fan", etc...

Thanks, guess I have some time.

How can I visualize these tank sizes?

48x24x18
48x30x24
50x30x20

Trying to pick one!

IMO the 30" width is wonderful. I guess the height has more with what types of corals you want to grow and the "look down" perspective.
Have fun deciding.

summer6,

I'm not sure what corals I want yet, I have picked out my fish!
I'm sure the taller and wider tanks are good for fish, so my guess is the 48x30x24 is probably the best for both fish and corals.

The fish I'm wanting in my tank are:
1. Blueface/Bluethroat Trigger
2. Blue/Green Chromis (school)
3. Goby
4. Jawfish
5. Tang

Something like that. I've been all over these forums, and read lots, gotten lots of opinions, and now its just coming down to me being able to make a decision and go with it!

new rimless tank - need advice

new rimless tank - need advice

Hi Everyone

I am about to get my new tank made and have decided to spend extra cash and go rimless with Diamant glass - next best thing to Starphire here in Thailand.

The measurements will be 52 inch x 30 x 30. Is 15mm thick glass enough (I think thats about 3/5 of an inch)? The tank will be eurobraced at the bottom to give the walls extra strength at the base. The overflow/water level will be 2.5 inches lower than the rim.

Can I get away with this height and no/minimal bowing or do I have to cut the height down more? Say to 28 inch? I dont want to go to 19mm (2/3 inch) glass due to weight and cost.

I'd appreciate advice as I am in Bangkok and they dont make rimless tanks here.

Brett
