hello,

i noticed that the newest riterri (or mag, if you prefer. lol) has 2 mouths :-o there are 2 distinct mouths, with about 1/2" of flesh between them...

the pics are not the best quality, but you should get the idea....

has anyone seen this before???

Pfan & Humphrey, that's what I'm hoping for!

Quickcord, you are bursting my bubble :-p lol

I was hoping for a natural split... I'm actually looking to get a couple more. I set up a tank just for them, and want to try propagating some. I want to try to find a couple that split naturally though... it would be sweeeeeet to be able to provide a few for local reefers so they don't have to bring as many in. It seems like so many fresh imports don't make it...

When mine has attempted to split, the mouth opens up into a large hole that you can see all the way through the foot to the rock underneath it. It then splits into a "C" shape and then pulls itself apart into two anemones. I haven't seen two mouth like yours before, pretty cool.

I would definitely wait for the mag to split on its own before trying to force propagate it.

Not a Mag, but my rbta formed a second mouth about a year and a half ago after I first got it.
Still has two mouths a year and a half later and never split. Started at about 3" and is now 8".
