RJT's In-wall 220g

Finally!! This build was started in December, thanks to Nightowl I got the motivation to start this thread.

I already had a 150g in wall tank but I didn't like the width nor did I like the overflow towers. So it was time for an upgrade.

In December 2012 I decided to drill the fish tank I got off of craigslist. I watched a lot of videos and asked countless questions to anyone that has drilled their tank. Drilling was the easiest things to do in this hobby. I drilled two 2in holes for the internal overflow box and two 3/4in holes for the mag 18 return.

<a href="http://s1055.beta.photobucket.com/user/rjtreef/media/20121208_084551_zpse5ea89fd.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s507/rjtreef/20121208_084551_zpse5ea89fd.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20121208_084551_zpse5ea89fd.jpg"/></a>

Of course the same minute the tank was plumbed I started to fill it with water and the live rock from the 150g.

<a href="http://s1055.beta.photobucket.com/user/rjtreef/media/20121209_110803_zpsf65db7a5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s507/rjtreef/20121209_110803_zpsf65db7a5.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20121209_110803_zpsf65db7a5.jpg"/></a>

Temporary tank for fish in 150g

<a href="http://s1055.beta.photobucket.com/user/rjtreef/media/20121205_185507_zps314986c1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s507/rjtreef/20121205_185507_zps314986c1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20121205_185507_zps314986c1.jpg"/></a>

Regretfully, I lost all of the fish except for a golden dwarf eel, cleaner wrasse and splendid (blue star) leopard wrasse. I had a 35g and 15g but the amount of fish was still too high even with 40% water changes every other day. I have had very bad experiences with the 35g, only three fish has ever made it out alive. I recently gave the tank away. I am sure it is user error and not the tank but too many bad experiences.

I feed heavily so to keep the water clean I do a 20% wc every week.

If I had better camera skills I could show how everything looks. But right now its just a blurry out of focus picture.

Thanks. I think it looks okay. There are hundreds of great tanks out there. I have a bunch of fish and frags. I think next year it will be an amazing tank.

Tigershark4 where are you located?

Time for some pics

Thank you. Tilefish is nice. I found out with mine if you have one they only come out to eat. Now that I have two both are always out. They are jumpers. One jumped from his covered qt tank to the next qt. Lucky fish!!

Thanks. It was my wife's hard work of telling me how she wanted it to look.

The blennies are nice. They sleep on the same rock.
