RO/DI and apartments

Hey guys. I would like to get an RO/DI again, but I don't want to deal with altering plumbing as I rent and won't be here forever. Anyhow, are there any good temp / portable RO/DI's? Maybe one that would screw onto a kitchen faucet or even an outdoor house fitting?

You can make any RO/DI portable by mounting it to a piece of plywood and buy a faucet or hose adapter.

Yea just what Dave said. You can mount them on a plywood, and run them from your washing machine or faucet. I choose washing machine. It takes less than 15 minutes and its out of the way hidden in my laundry room.

That's a good idea. I can probably even get a spliter for the water. Would the cold water side be best to split?

Here is the solution to your question. Check out this video fro BRS on how to install an RO/DI without modifying the plumbing.

Yes, you always want your feed from the cold water. You never want your feed to come straight from the hot tap. :)

rather than a faucet adapter, an undersink shut off supply valve is a better option. If you can access you hose bib, then a splitter and hose bib adapter works great.
