RO/DI supplies

Just thought I'd throw up a comment about www.thefilterguys.biz . I placed an order with this place on Sunday and even with a holiday, actually received the order today! Very impressed.

They have very competitive prices on RO/DI supplies and also carry frag supplies, including frag plugs and disks from Boston Aqua Farms. They are a little higher than ordering direct, but if you combine with some filter cartridges as I did, its a good deal.

Anyway, I would recommend giving these guys a try the next time you need RO/DI supplies.

I agree...

I placed my last order with them and they were awsome. I ordered refill media for my DI cartidges quality was excellent and service was fast and great prices also.
I'll be doing more biz with them for sure

Does anyone know if their products are interchangable with other RO/DI units. I have a Spectra Pure four stage RO/DI that i need replacement filters for. Will the filter guys stuff work in this unit. Their prices are much more apeeling to my budget.

Most RO/DI stuff comes in standard sizes. I got a GE RO and I have had GE, omnifliter, purelyh20, and spectra pure media in it from one time or another.

The spectra-pure stuff is pricely but I got a longer lifespan out of the SP DI vs. the other brands.

I haven't ordered form the filter guys though. I will probably give them a try.

I now order the replacement media for my DI cartridges (I run 2 of them) and refill the cartridges myself...cheaper and so easy to do.
I get them media from the filter guys.

As for that 5th filter on yours it looks like it might be a taste and odor polisher...but those are really only meant for drinking water systems.

I think I am going to order from these guys tommorrow.

I priced out getting new all new media vs. buying a whole new unit and it was like $30. I will finally have clear canisters and get rid of the rats nest of RO lines under my sink.

Hope it goes well.

The GE was 10GPD when it was new is now down to about 2.5GPD and passing 30-35 TDS!

I got the chloramine upgrade too since that is the big thing with my water.

I called them up a human answered the phone and they said it would be out tommorrow.

Those guys seem great on the service....
Gratz on the new system covey!
let me know when you get it as I am interested how it performs as I have never had anyone in Davenport to compare with....

Glad to see you went with Dual DI as I need it to ensure low TDS...

I think I am getting either silicate or Phosphate in our water....

That one only has a single in-line DI but I already have a dual DI that I will hook to it when I burn up the first set of resin. Then I have plans for the little in-line DI housing.

Anyway my tapwater is a bit odd over here by midwest standards. 3/4 of a mile away from the water plant it is clean, soft(80-85 TDS), and has enough chloramine to sanitze a pool!

Ouch.....
I dont have the chloramine problem but my water tests out at 278 TDS!

I have to run a second DI to get it to zero because the TDS is so high to start with.

I am by the new WalMart on West Kimberly.

278....I would kill for that...........I am at 670 out of the tap! 28 after the membrane and 0 after DI. I have an air water ice system and love it. I do not like their DI resin. I think I will stick the Aquatic eco system DI resin. It lasts much longer. Or maybe I will try these guys'

HI Bullet

WOW! 600's starting TDS thats insane...
I have been buying the resin from these guys and filling my own cartridges....I like it so far, prices are good and they last just as long if not longer...

....I too bought the 75 GPD ro/di from these guys after seeing this post. Started w/ 600+ tds out of the tap and this took it down to 1!!
Has anyone tried the retrofit that recycles the waste water by running it through a second time?

....speaking of burning up the resin. I just made my first batch of water and it used up the DI resin almost completly w/ the first 35 gallons of water produced. Called the makers and they confirmed that
w/ a tds reading as high as mine, the horizontal DI cartridge that I bought is useless. I have to retrofit already w/ the vertical variety.

So I know somebody who has an RODI unit forsale but the problem is it has not been hooked up for awhile, I was wondering how the membrane would be and where I could possibly get a replacement, not to mention if the other cartridges will need to be replaced as well....thanks

I would replace all filters so you know excactly where you are with all of the cartridges and the membrane...
I really like these guys, I'm sure they can get you set up
