RO water tank

I just got a free 30g white RO water storage tank from my father in law, they only used it a few times and just for holding drinking water. What should I do to get this ready to use for storing RO water? I trust him but want to make sure its clean for reef use.

use the vinegar....

using bleach will mean you have to rinse it a ton to get the bleach residue out.

i use regular vinegar or go strait for the muriatic acid and just use a much weaker dilution

I'd do a good vinegar rinse also, maybe fill it with vinegar/water and put a pump in it and let it pump around for a few hours.

Rinse with a solution of hydrogen peroxide or bleach to kill any bacteria that may reside in the storage tank prior to plumbing it to the filter.

You can load a hose with some HO and then use tap water line pressure to push it into the tank. Shake the tank around and let it sit for a bit. Rinse thoroughly.

Edit: is the storage tank truly 30G? or did you mean 3G? I've never seen one so large as 30. I prefer to use two smaller tanks so as to have no downtime when servicing but free rules.
