Road Trip!!

Today we (Joe-Joes210Gal, Kay-Reefer Madness, Austin-Mayor of Whoville, Minh-Reefugee, and Kevin-BackIntheGame) embarked on an improptu road trip. Started out as a quick visit to Ed's house with just me and Joe. Then at the meeting it turned into a trek to Underwater Paradise with lots of stops (including Ed's) along the way.

I wish Kay was feeling better. But I think we all had a good time. It was also cool to meet one of the new crew, Kevin. He's an old school reefer from back in the day. Back, according to him, when nobody was even keepig SPS except the big dogs. Let me be one of the first to say...welcome back bro!

We all met up at my house where everyone had a quick peek at the tank.

Then packed into the work van like sardines...

Then over to Ed's. "It's like a mini tank tour!"...Indeed!

Hooked up with Mike (Mikey Donuts) for a minute then it was off to Your Reef. Don't have any pics at Your Reef. But it was packed to the gills! Lots of jockying for new fish. I picked up a nice Red Scooter Blenny but my mission was foiled. No more Leopard Wrasses to be had at this store...better keep movin.

Our next stop was Underwater Paradise. Rob's always got some goodies in the tank. Including..he he he...a Leopard Wrasse!! Yes! I snatched him up quick...I also couldn't resist a gorgeous Turquoise Maxima clam and a nice pink and green acan colony Kevin and I split.

Here we all are facing the music of the register. I think we all overspent! I can never leave Rob's store without a worked over wallet. His deals are always too much to resist!

Good times guys! We should all do that again next payday! Lol.

Hey, I gotta say thanks to you guys for the invite and good times! yeah I remember when only names like Sprung, Theil, Delbeek....etc were the Acro gods. I go to sleep like Van Winkle and Bamm....even teenagers got Metal Halides..LOL I truly enjoyed hanging out and gaining knowledge. BTW UWP is OFF THE METER! Nice to meet you Rob!

I thought it was a cool when I was passing through Marysville on our way home from Chico and saw all you guys at UWP that was pretty cool. we ended up picking up some zoas, two ORA False Percs and that beautiful yellow mimic tang that rob had=)I wish I would've got to tour Ed's tank=)

Kevin, it was cool having you on board. You're right about Underwater Paradise. At UWP I end up spending money I don't have. Or in this case begging money from Joel cuz I can't walk out of the store empty handed.

I felt bad for Kay though.
Kay - Are you alright now?

Pete - You going with us on the next trip? We've decided to make UWP the first stop. Then we'll hit the other stores after. From experience, this is the best plan.

Great trip. Lots of fun. I actually did a really good job of controlling my spending. I didn't get what I originally set out to purchase - but it was all good.

Kevin - great meeting you. Now that we know you, your free game for us.

Funny how reefers can get when they're at an LFS like UWP.

I get to where sometimes I don't see anything around me cuz I'm so focused on a frag I'm thinking of buying. It's all part of the addiction.

Intense and focused LOL.. Thats me.. Did you notice I ducked out for like 5minutes I wanted to buy that mimic tang but didn't want to walk back to the car and have my girlfriend not like it. So I went out and brought her in and luckily she loved it!!! She actually bought me the two ORA clowns..
I love UWP there is just such a huge selection of corals there i love it.. I kinda had to be focused though so you guys didn't buy my corals..LOL J/K..
yeah I had just bought a crazy blue acro frag in chico about an hour or so before too=)It is definately an addicting hobby..Walk into out apt and see the 180 in my front room of my 2bd apt=) then I have 2 20gs in the kitchen..Ilove this hobby... Next tank is going to be a sea horse tank for my girlfriend

That is the point when I started feeling sick and I didn't take out the camera again. I was feeling so crappy that I didn't even look at any corals in Underwater Paradise! I totally meant to say hi to Dan but I just sat in Rob's chair trying to keep my lunch down. :sad2: Thanks for dealing with me guys. :hmm2: I am feeling much better now.

Oh and I wanted to add that I love the road trips! You really get to know your fellow reefers pretty well and it's always a fun day! I look forward to the next one.

Hey Kay. I am debating on a road trip to AL today. Interested? I want to spend the gift cards I won in the MARS raffle. They usually have really great deals on mini SPS colonies. Also want to look for some fish. Let me know if you and Austin are up to it. You know my number.

BTW - I want to make this a quick trip. AL and then maybe CRS.

I tried sleeves for the first couple months but they always ended up wet so I figured sleevless was better then a tank top:eek1:
