Roadtrip NE1?

Hey all,

I am heading to SF to pick up a new tank this Saturday AM. The problem is that its all put together and needs tore down and is made of glass (150 gal). If anybody (strong) wants to head for a road trip this weekend to help out, I will totally hook you up with a couple frags when mine are big enough to frag. - (they are relatively small now :()

Not to mention, it would be great company with a couple down to earth fellow enthusiasts to talk shop and whatever BS it leads to. Breakfast and lunch are on me! - Time permitting we can probably stop by a place or 2 along the way to check out the LFS in the bay area.

We are planing on leaving about 8AM, and will probably be back 3-4? I will be driving (don't worry I have great insurance). I am hoping for at least one more person who can help lift a bit into a full sized truck. Please PM me if you are down and your better half will let you out for the day.

OHHHHHHH wow... let me talk to my wife. I had a tank to take down but I could handle that later in the night.

The person I am buying the tank from has a water filtration unit to go with it, although she does not know what it is (hmmm). The pictures of the tank when it was fully populated showed incredible growth of almost pure purple LR. So no promises as I have yet to see it myself, but if you are up for whats behind door number 2...

I would look at it this way:
Free food - $30
All inclusive trip to a Bay area LFS: $80
Potentially nice RO unit: $100
My and Ed's company: priceless (or -$210 depending on how you look at it).

Either way you will at least be breaking even!

Thanks all for the support, you guys are great! Edwin, I owe you one... I will call you and set up things for this Saturday. Should be fun!

Wow, I had a blast. And what road trip is without stories.

Hmm lets see so we go to burger king to grab a fast breakfast and they forgot both orange juices for two of the meals.

Drove down to fremont and got the tank, beautiful tank. Made by Max from mermaid aquarium.

After getting the tank, we went to get something to eat. Wanted Chinese food. So we find a shopping center with a place in it, and we are all wondering where Mermaid aquarium is. And Low and behold Its in the same shopping center as the chinese place. How funny.

So we did some shopping, Max's was pretty empty. Ed, another reefer that came with us got a screaming deal on a 8 light T-5 tek unit.

Then we went over to the AQUAMAN's house and man, he has a nice setup. A 180 reef, just gorgeous. I should of brought my camera. Mike and ed picked up some frags and then we were off.

Last stop a shell for some cash for the toll bridge. So We all get something to snack on. I get a quart of milk and some hostess. Get in the truck, enjoying my delightfully yummy chocolate. Open the milk take a DRINK. "Wait this doesnt taste right!" So i look into the bottle. ITS curdled and gone bad. OH disgusting. Luckily I didnt swallow, But i wanted to hurl.

So theres how the day went in a short version.

Great to see that stuff going down.......Ill probably be up for that in the future.........

local fishstorin' is a good outing also.....though competition for the goods could get hairy!!!!

Thank you Edwin and Ed for an awesome day. It was great just shooting the sh$t with a couple of fellow reef geeks and getting some great deals on some awesome equip. Tank arrived without a scratch we got many bonuses along the way. Could not have done it without you guys. I will get it all cleaned up and post some pics of our spoils.

I hope the RO unit and lights work out for you two!
