Roanoke Area Water Pressure Poll

Just curious do any of you employ a booster pump for your ro di. BRS unit states the ideal pressure is about 50 psi. Does anybody know approximately what your home water pressure runs. I know it can vary from home to home and area to area. I just wanted to gauge what people were measuring.

You can buy a simlpe pressure gauge that attaches to a outdoor spigot. just make sure that all other water in the house is not in use. attach it it to the spigot and turn on the water and it will show you your house pressure. I have one at the house but for a few bucks it might be worth driving to your local hardware store over driving to the lake.

i live right off of tanglewood mall and my water pressure is about 30 psi. no booster pump needed for me

Mine is around 35/40 and I also don't use a booster. I also haven't had to replace any filters since setting it up and still have a 0 TDS.

Guys even though your RODI works under those pressures, when the incoming water is boosted it prolongs the life of your membrane and cut the ratio from about 5:1 to 3:1 and inturn save you a little cash on your water bill.

I live in blue ridge area and mine is 105-110. I put a pressure reducer to knock it down to 75. I have been running my RO for 3 years and have only changed the carbon filters and it still puts out 0-1 tds and around 400 incoming.

This was exact debate. A ratio of 3:1 or 2:1 would be nice. It sounds as if most people are getting good TDS despite slightly suboptimal pressures. Thanks for everybody's input.
