i am going to use 2 luminarc mini's, i dont need a ton of light, because i will only be keeping Lps and softies, and teh occational monticap.

i decided that i didnt want alot of flow through the sump, so i bought an eheim 1260 return pump, so i am only going to utilize one of the interal overflows.

Rob I think you bought that tank from my neighbor Paul...=) It's a beautiful tank I debated getting it for awhile... Get some pics up.. Also I would use both overflows as well...I wish I had dual overflows on my 180..

probably.. remember you don't need alot of flow goign through your sump it's actually better to have lower flow through there.. I've found this out through the years.. I use to have a mag18for a return on my old 90g.. that was just rediculous i have a mag 9.5 right now on my 180 and kinda wish I was running a mag7

Although high turnover isn't necessary, I think failure to adequately turn over a display sufficiently can lead to problems as well. Personally, I aim for 5-7x the display volume. Based on your pump, sounds like you fall in the sweet spot.

hoping to get some pics of the tank up soon! and i went to home depot today and i am starting the stand!

so i made about 3/5's of the cuts for the wood last night, being highly accurate is extremely time consuming, but i am hopeing by the end of the night tonight that the stand will have some structure to it.

ok so the stand isnt going as fast as i hoped, i didnt have enough clamps twice which pushed me back two days, becuase i had to glue in sections and it took up alot of time, but this is what i have for the frame, i am planning on building the "skin" of the stand and the 2x4 section of the stand in 2 segments, then slipping the "skin" of it over the 2x4 part then securing the two together, then i am going to put veneer over it so that it will paint much better.
