Rock Flower Anemone Extended

Is this normal for a rock flower anemone? My one is chilling at the base of a rock by the sand, the other is on top of a rock and is always extended way out, he's not in any direct flow or anything. Just wanted to see if this is normal or not

That's not Epicystis crucifer, common name rock or flower anemone. That is a Phymanthus, sometimes called a frilly anemone. They originate from Indo-Pacific, whereas E. crucifer come from the Caribbean. Your anemone looks healthy. Not sure why it's extended, have any conditions changed?

Like most anemones they change form according to conditions. Both are normal forms and they look healthy.

One of my little rock anemones just walked away from the group he was with and is wedged in some rock much higher up than he was. He's scrunched down because there's a lot of flow there.

A couple of weeks ago another one left the same group and crawled out into the sand bed. He sat there all nice and wide to take in the light.

Two different sets of conditions. Two different forms.

Nothing has changed, I got them both from different locations and both called them a rock flower. What is the difference between the two besides where they come from?

Waffen, they are completely different species, not even in the same genus, so not closely related to one another. The Phymanthus asexually reproduce also, I believe, whereas E. crucifer never do
