Rocky Point Fish

Guys,

What kind of cool reef fish live in the waters of rocky point? I think I'm going to go there next year for spring break and might try to catch some fish while diving. Has anybody done this? Could I bring them back? Just curious is all...I saw a post on ACRO forums and someone was asking this.

rocky point diving. where to start. not anything to write home about, this from a guy who likes to dive the salt river. there are no fish worth trying to drive across the border with. inverts are cool , small nasaria, gargonian, and macros. there is one coral that makes it that is green. plenty of turbos and red legs. remember there are restrictions about taking the stuff cross border. by law you need paperwork to collect take things back, even the ua has a hard time, i had a grad student tell me she had to dump her murix snails at the border when she was stopped. i have gotten around it by saying it was sea food and i got it at the market. hope this helps.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll just enjoy diving and LOOKING at everything down there (if anything). This reminds me of when I lived in Hawaii and did some of the more challenging dives that the tourists couldn't find. I wish I had my tank set up then, I would have some pretty cool stuff. Oh well.

take a smaller tank, i had to go out to bird island and dig a hole to get 60 feet depth. it looks like sand bed bare bottom and volcanic football size rocks. there is some cool macro down there as it cools off

one cooler dive i did was out behind vina del mar. there is a boat ramp you can get down without breaking your leg on the rocks, there were alot of gargonians and some stuff that isnt wrecked by fishing or tourists. pm me if you want more info

If you need some portable air bubblers, hit me up :) if you can get the strawberry anemones that are there when the tides are out, those are wicked sweet.
