Rodi acceptable readings

So my rodi unit is reading 00 ppm but after I put it in my storage tank for about a week it's now reading 04ppm. My tap water is 159ppm.

Is 04ppm acceptable? I'm assuming because the water is so pure that anything in the storage must have contaminated it. If 04 is too much what can I do to keep that storage containers water at 00ppm?

It is a food safe 55 gallon drum with air tight lid.

Something must be leeching out of the container. I store my RO/DI water in brand new only used for water containers. I've stored it for up to a month and it still reads 0.

I don't necessarily think anything is leaching out of your container.... what type of container are you using?
Once the water comes out of the unit it will start to accumulate TDS which is normal, dust, pollen, if you don't clean out your ro/di holding tank every once in awhile ,it will actually grow a bacteria in it.....

Hi

It's one of the blue 55 gallon drums commonly used in the food

I realized that the hole I made (1/4") in the drum for water line coming from my rodi unit was unplugged so maybe some dust or something might have creeped in.

However im cycling my tank and have been using this water measuring at 03-04ppm without knowing to top off my tank. Will this do any damage? My cycle is going pretty well right now. Everything is in balance going thru the nitrite spike right now.
