RODI resin question

Out of my RO membrane I'm at 7ppm, after running through the DI, it only drops to 5ppm. This is with new resin also from BRS. In the past I've always been at 0ppm after resin, but not now. I guess it's possible I got bad resin, but I'm hesitant to think so. Any idea why I would get these readings besides a faulty TDS meter, it's a inline btw.

If you have an inline TDS meter, make sure the probes are aligned correctly.

Also check the DI cartridge and see if it looks like the top portion has changed color already.

How should the probes be aligned? I have inline meters myself and I'm not sure they're set up correctly.

Just did some reading about the probes and it may have been my problem all along. I'm going to change the resin since it has been in for about a month and that is how long I generally last because of my high co2 from the well.

You want the probes aligned so they are parallel with the fitting ( if you look through the fitting, you should see only one probe, NOT TWO )

Other way around...

If you took the tube out of one side of the tee, you want to see two probes side by side.

this is what I read........I understood it as, if you inserted the probe in the bottom of the T, you should only see one probe. Heres the link, it's under directions.

Thanks, guys, my probes are set up wrong, they're parallel to the water flow.

I'll correct them next RO/DI run, it's great learning stuff on this site.

As if this stuff isn't complicated enough w/o getting flat out wrong information from sources you'd think were reliable!

Yeah that does not sound right only 7ppm out of the RO is pretty good. I get 10-12pmm out of my 90GPD Spectra Pure unit after the RO. I also run BRS DI resin and I get 0ppm when the resin is good.

I guess there was a problem with the resin or somehow I packed badly. I remember initially refilling my cartridge and still had 3ppm. Went ahead and changed out the resin and I now have 0ppm. Will keep a eye on it and see what's going on.

That doesn't sound right at all. I have BRS 75gpd, after six months it red 10ppm out of DI and my tap is 480ppm. I just changed the resin few days ago and minutes after I changed it, it reads zero. Something is wrong somewhere in your readings. It's just not possible to just drop to 5 from 7ppm.
