Rodi System ???

i am looking to buy a new rodi system as my old one that was given to me broke. i have a 75rr with a 30gal sump. my question is is it necessary to go with the refill canister that some of the units come with so you always have 3-4 gallons ready or is it just a added expense not worth it?

I don't have one. I just picked up a couple of 6 gallon water jugs from Walmart and fill those up every once in a while for topoff or for whatever needs may be.

Don't remember what I paid. They're just big plastic jugs with screw on caps. Kind of like something you'd see strapped to the back of a jeep or something like that.

I got mine from purelyh2o also. They have the best customer service ever! When the faucet adapter that came with mine wouldn't work with our faucet, he sent us several others for free to see if any of them would be a better fit.

I've ordered replacement cartridges from www.purelyh20.com and I am very pleased w/ their service and prices. They are also a SEASL supporter - they donated an RO/DI unit to our 50/50 auction.

question to those that have one from pureh2o. I have you had any problems with the horizontal DI unit? I don't know too much about the RODI units but I read somewhere it is better to have a vertical DI. Any comments on that.

Thanks

it is better to have a vertical DI

the horizontal is depended on gravity for the bottom media to get the most use and the top very little

ok that is what I heard that the DI gets messed up on the horizontal ones. I will narrow my search to a vertical. Thanks.

you can always add on an extra vertical

Vertical DI

Vertical DI

Our systems do have a vertical DI.
we do not use the other method as they do not work as well.

Which system of ours did you see that had anything but a vertical?

isn't the white housing on top the DI? Maybe I am wrong. I am probably confused as I don't know too much about these things.
