RODI top off questions

The tunze unit is great because it uses optics instead of a mechanical float. The downside is its cost. That mixing station is pretty cool, they are easy to build too.

The spectrapure float switches can stick open easily. Had this happen with a snail. Also had it happen due to salt creep. So 2 times in just over 2 years. Therfore, I don't recommend they be used to feed a sump directly from the rodi unit. Plus as already mentioned, the unit must run for about 10 minutes before the water is usable.

Not in my experience for the past 18 months. The system uses a pressure based sensor connected to a solenoid and a backup float valve so risk of overflow is extremely low. Also if you do proper filter maintenance, 0 TDS at all times.

Ah, you're right. I was thinking of just their float switch setup. I forgot they have a whole ato setup as well. Thanks for the correction. Still.... Not something I would feel safe about Glad it has worked out for you.

It's actually been a major plus for my system because I really don't have space for an ATO resevoir. I also ran a T off my ATO for my saltwater mix. I have to turn in on manually but it's very easy and because the container is adjacent to my stand, water changes take less than ten minutes for about 20gallons.
