Rod's food is now available at Premium Aquatics

When I was at Rods to get a hex drilled on Saturday, I took a few photos for the Rods Onyx thread on reef central. Here's a few to wet your appetite:

Have a great weekend!

I'm still going to the shop for my fix... err... I mean...food. Too much eyecandy that I would miss by not going.

Congrats though Rod - now your food will truely be Worlds Best!

Rod has been working his a$$ off on my system over the past month or so. I started out doing a lot of the stuff myself but then got REAL busy at work. We are getting close to merging both my tanks together into one large filtration system. When we are done I will post pic's.

Rod is the best... If you have not been out to see him or his place DO IT.

You know how with your car you always hope to find the honest mechanic that will not rip you off? Rod is the honest fish guy that you can count on.

Ed,

Rod, it's ok...chime in here. :) You know where the line is and are good about not crossing it.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Useually I stear clear of any thread that mentions me, my shop, my clowns or my food, but I do have to thank you all this time.

Many of the people that have been getting some of my onyx have been asking me to ship my food. I didnt want to deal with Dry ice... Premium Aquatics has been one of my favorites for many many years, so who better than them to make my food available to the "not so locals"

SaraB: You can get a package with labels on front and back when I get a ride in that viper, and Ill even get you a poster made for your fish room if I get to drive it :D. (you should know better than to bring that here on a Saturday when there are usually people here ;) ) I guess I dont have to drive it but it sure would be fun!

Credt for the label has to go to CraftyTony! He like toplay with photoshop and he did a great job, but just so people dont think the he is on my payroll, he did it completely for free without me asking or even knowing about it. ( I may have let him sneak out with some RO water on occasion as a way of saying thanks, but not on my payroll ;) ). The label seems to be a hit. Many people are liking the 60's flashback. I personally think its groovy :D

Ed, If you wanted a corner set up, Id toss in a bag of food AND a pair of clowns :)
hehehe.. "Rods day at the shed" .. Remind me to hand you a razor blade and an acrylic pad the next time you and your lil notebook come through the door.

So do us locals get the cool new packages or just the zip lock bags?either way the food is GREAT
Glad to see you finally got it on the market for every one else to enjoy
now picture this once others get to try this how are you going to keep up with production
I see Rod with a 55 gal bucket and a drill with a big a$$ mixer hooked to it:) :)

Rod - YES you can drive it for a poster! I love that packaging and it would look great in the fishroom!!!! Also, if you are out on a service call in the area swing in and we can go for a ride then.

I just got some yesterday, the fish went nuts. I've never seen such a feeding frenzy. For the first time ever my nassarius snails came out with the lights on. The stuff is kinda messy though for a FOWLR tank. I imagine the corals in a reef tank would really dig all the little bits. Rod, ever consider making a version that isn't so finely ground for us fish only folks?

I don't know what you are all talking about. I tried that $*@$ today and it tasted NASTY. This dope's gotta be the worst cook in the world.

Don't hold your breath on this one. Rod, I'll save you the trouble and say it myself: Rod hates fish. Don't let the advertising fool you, this food is for corals and inverts. The fish are an afterthought.

And this time, I'm not even kidding.

He DOES like tangs and clowns though. Every tank needs a pair of clowns and every 6' tank needs a tang.

by the way...how often do you guys feed with rod's food, i have been feeding every other day, i'd say the size of a 50 cent piece...anyone feed more or less amount/frequency???

I feed once a day and the size is b/t a nickel and a quarter. I feed this to a 29 gal tank that only has 2 ocellaris, 1 sixline, and 1 cleaner shrimp (and corals of course). I just watch my ORP and when it starts droppin' then I know I have to feed smaller pieces.

I feed about a dime size once a day. I have 2 onyx, 3 firefish, 1 midas blenny and 1 blue accessor that eat the food.
