Rod's Onyx

I called his 866 number this morning and was surprised that he answered the phone. I purchased a pair and they will arrive on Wednesday.

I wasn't actually the one in charge of the group order. I was surprised to hear that he couldn't get a hold of him too. Especially from all the great reviews regarding his customer support.

I will definitely be trying again soon.

Greyfox - you'll have to post a few pictures of your new arrivals! Exciting!!!

does anyone experience constant bickering from their pairs of onyx? mine keep chasing each other all day. its like its what they live for. and theyre really aggressive at feeding time too; if one sees the other eat the other will go nuts trying to chase it away or steal the food

until the dominant one is able to put some more weight on they seem to bicker, but never do any harm, just interaction, like lion cubs :)

ah okay. one of them is bigger and fatter, but the other one refuses to step down. thanks GSMguy

look at my pics a couple pages back with the progression, when he sent them one was slightly larger. Now the female is twice the size of the male,

that will change for you as well the female will grow faster than the males...

brstwv -

looks like you got a great pair. were those the more expensive ones or the less expensive ones? thanks.

brstwv, looks like you got a pretty good deal. Rod told me that my pair costs $50 each, will be about the size of a jelly bean working on their second bars.

Thanks. I ended up paying $50 a piece, I imagine there were pry some cheaper or maybe more expensive.

Thanks! That makes for a good reference point for his quality. I am planning on going the same route.

Thank you. They look better in person. I do have one small issue; I have to keep them in a small floating breeder in my 180g for now since I don't think they are big enough to fend for themselves in the big tank. I'm having problems finding a bigger breeder, does anyone have any suggestion?

Beautiful clowns Greyfox, Rod's onyx are the best. I have my pair in a breeder box as well, but the way they are eating I'm sure they won't be in there to long
