Roger - how many magnets?

Roger,

I completely rethinking my traditional reef approach (i.e. overflows, sumps, big pump, will incorporate light-mover etc.) I have a 120 gallon/low bioload/sps that I am setting up from two smaller tank that will be dismantled.

I already have a 9010 skimmer and osmolator ATO. I want to incorporate a 3166.00 surface skimmer with Turbelle pump 1600/2 for a "complete in-tank solution."

My questions are: 1) Is the 3166.00 sufficient for a 120 sps tank, or is the 3167.000 double more appropriate? 2) How many magnet sets are required for mounting each unit?

Thank you for your assistance.

3166 will do the job but 3167 is better in the sense that you can use two medias at once so you can run carbon and mechanical, or phosphate remover and carbon. The 3166 needs one magnet, the 3167 needs two. Please let me know before you order as to incorporate the 3155 and use the magnet holders we need to modify the filter so the magnets attach on the bottom and don't interfere with the float switch.

No, it is very easy to do, I just need to know who you ordered it from so we can modify the unit we ship to them. I have these filters on hand but I am out of 1600/2 pumps. Marine Depot and Premium Aquatics may have them in stock though.

Roger,

I checked both Premium Aquatics and Marine Depot's website and was unable to locate a Tunze product with the designation 1600/2. Could it be listed under a different designation, perhaps? Tunze's website lists the 1600/2 pump at $84.54. Additionally, I was unable to locate a Turbelle pump that was anywhere close to that price. (I know most Tunze products are very close in price to the price that Tunze mandates)

Is it possible that you could assist me to assemble the 3166.000, 1600/2 pump, and two magnet holders (1/2 inch glass) at one place for order? (at least the so-far elusive 1600/2 as I was easily able to find the 3166.00 and magnets in stock at PA)

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Roger,

One more question, if I may:

Do you have the 1000/2 in stock? Would this be sufficient with the 3166.000 on a 120 gal with adequate surface agitation in your opinion?

Jonathan

I do not unfortunately. The only pumps I have that can run this filter are the 7200/2. If you want one of those let me know, I have two with damaged boxes, dented drivers that I could make a discount on but they will still be more than a 1600/2.

By the way, we do normally stock these pumps but I have been out for sometime as getting caught up on other products has been the priority for the factory, we normally selll just about a dozen of those pumps a year so they have a low demand in the US and have been low priority as a result, I am sorry we are out of them.

I'll check out the 7200/2. The damaged units you have are completely operational - simply cosmetic damage? I may be interested. Are pics a possibility?
